Why are my buttons grayed out?

If your DIAL SELECTED, DIAL LIST, DIAL STEP, CALL or EMAIL buttons are grayed out on your LISTS page, there could be a few possible reasons for this...

#1 Your dialer is currently active 

If your dialer is active, all of the DIAL SELECTED, DIAL LIST or DIAL STEP buttons on the LISTS page will be grayed out. Make sure to CLOSE DIALER at the top right and those buttons will be ready to click again...

#2 You are missing phone numbers or email addresses for those contacts 

If your dialer is not active, but you are still seeing the CALL or EMAIL buttons grayed out in your lists, those contacts may be missing a phone number...

... or missing an email.... 

#3 In a List (with no Playbook), you already called those contacts

If the contacts in your list have phone numbers, but the CALL buttons are still grayed out, you may have called those contacts already from that list. When a list has no playbook, whenever you call a contact it will change their status from NOT CONTACTED to CONTACTED in that list. If they have already been CONTACTED, their call button will be grayed out going forward so that you will instead continue calling the rest of the list...

Once a list has been fully dialed and all the CALL buttons are grayed out, you can RESET your list and start over fresh (See: When to RESET a List).

#4 In a Playbook, you contacts are still inside the Time Gap between steps

Each Playbook Step can have a Time Gap (e.g. make the next call 2 Business Days later)...

While contacts are still inside the Time Gap, their buttons will be grayed out...

#5 In a Playbook, you used a Schedule that is blocking the contacts from being called or emailed

Schedules are created under SETTINGS => YOUR ORGANIZATION => SCHEDULES (See: Using Schedules In Your Playbooks). Their purpose is to limit when actions can be performed (e.g. don't call someone too early or too late, based on the contact's time zone). 

In your Playbook settings, you may attach a Schedule to any of your Playbook Steps...

If the contacts inside of your Playbook Steps are outside of the allowed times, their buttons will be grayed out in your Playbook steps...
