Dials vs. Outbound Call on Activity Report

What is the difference between DIALS and OUTBOUND CALLS on the Activity report in FrontSpin?

DIALS include 0 sec calls that were never picked up. The rep called and hung up before the call could be answered.

OUTBOUND CALLS only includes calls that have been picked up (>0 seconds).
