Dials vs. Outbound Call on Activity Report

What is the difference between DIALS and OUTBOUND CALLS on the Activity report in FrontSpin?

DIALS includes all calls, even 0 second calls that were never picked up by the other end (such as when a call could not be completed, or just rang forever, or the rep hung up before the call could be answered).

OUTBOUND CALLS only includes calls that have been picked up by the other end (>0 seconds of talk time).
